As quoted by PlayStation themselves:
Your mission: explore a largely uncharted sector of space known as The Trench, in hopes of locating a suitable new home world for the decimated Vulcan populace. The Klingon Empire is also active in the region, and their objective is a threat to the Federation’s plans.
Make strategic decisions and coordinate actions with your crew to complete the mission. In co-op, you can form a crew of four players to serve in the roles of Captain, Helm, Tactical, and Engineer. In addition to a dynamic storyline, the game features an Ongoing Missions mode that procedurally generates missions for countless hours of solo and co-op adventure.
In Star Trek: Bridge Crew, you’ll need more than just individual skill to overcome the challenges: communication, trust, and close crew coordination are the keys to victory.
We are huge Star Trek fans over here at the Emanata, so we couldn’t wait for this game to come out. First off the game isn’t only available on PlayStation VR, you can get this on Oculus rift and HTC vive. Must say that the graphics look a lot better from a PC so you’ll get the better visual experience on the Oculus.
Once we started playing one of the first things that we noticed was the lip sync which was a step above other games like this, which allowed us to see who was speaking and get familiar with our friends through their avatars. Interaction with the ships controls are amazing. Control almost every aspect of the ship with lots of room for error.
AI: The artificial intelligence on this game are pretty intuitive with every move that you make creating a calculative tactical advantage or disadvantage in the game. The game also adds a randomness aspect based on some sort of random generator thingy we haven’t quite figured out how they did this but it’s magic.
Game Length: the mission game play can be up to 8 hours but can be longer because of the random generator thingy…
Playing with friends: all we can say is super fun! Especially if you’re like us and play games with a group of knuckle heads with beer and lot’s of really bad language.
All and all this was probably one of the best VR game that we’ve played, and we played on the PlayStation VR but after seeing it on the Oculus we may play again.
